Warped wood is bent wood, which occurs due to moisture and heat. You can apply heat and moisture from the other side of the wood to bring it back in shape, but its not as easy as it sounds. Unwarping a piece of wood requires pressure, the right tools, and the correct guide.
Keeps in mind that unwarping the piece of wood you desire will need extensive time and effort. But the good news is, your wooden piece is not a lost cause and can be saved with this helpful guide:
Things you will need:
- Towel
- Garden hose
Instructions:
- Place the warped wood in a dry location, which is moisture free.
- With a garden hose, wet a patch of the lawn.
- When the sun is out, take the warped wood and place it in your wet area of lawn. The bended side of the wood should be placed on the wet area.
- Let the wood stay there for the entire day under the sun and heat. When the sun goes down, move it from the lawn and into your garage or workplace.
- Clean the wood piece with a towel. You will notice the wood to have come back in shape a bit.
- Repeat the above step for another day or two to get the warped wood piece in straight shape.
