The skin on our feet is dryer than the skin on the rest of the body as there are no oil glands on it, and with lack of care, the feet can turn dry and cracked. This condition is also called fissures. Standing for long hours, harsh soaps, cold weather, overweight, improper footwear and continuous exposure to water can lead to dry and cracked feet, In addition, the crack may be forming due to eczema, thyroid disease, diabetes, and psoriasis.

 

Cracked feet are unattractive and usually get painful. By adopting certain home remedies, you can soothe and heal cracked feet to reveal the smooth and flawless soles you once had. Follow the rmedies below to fix your foot problem:

 

Foot Soak

Soak your feet in a wash basin filled with warm water. This will comfort the feet. Add Epsom salt to soothe foot pain, and add a few drops of lavender oil.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Foot Scrub

Use a sugar scrub on the feet after you have soaked them in warm water for a while. You can make a scrub by mixing 1 cup of Epsom salt, 1 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons honey, 1 cup coconut oil, and 8 drops of wild orange oil. Apply this scrub on the feet and rub rigorously. Place the foot back in the basin, and repeat on the other foot. Rinse your feet and then pat dry.

 

 

Foot Cream

To soften the feet, give your foot a nice massage. Shea butter and coconut oil work best on dried out skin. Make a cream by mixing 1/ cup shea butter, 3/4 cup coconut oil, and 15 drops of lavender oil, and apply this to your feet, massaging it in circular motions as you do so.

 

 

 

 

Foot Mask

Apply a mask on the feet by mixing mashed banana with honey. Leave it on for 20 minutes, and then rinse off with lukewarm water.

 

 

Foot Night-Pack

Every night, apply a generous amount of Vaseline on your feet with a few drops of lemon juice (mix a teaspoon of Vaseline with 3 teaspoons of lemon juice). Apply overnight and cover your feet with socks

 

 

Foot Massage

Developing dry feet is due to lack of foot care. Regularly massage your feet with natural oils, like olive oil sesame oil, or coconut oil. Leave the oil on overnight and wash off in the morning.
