A retirement letter is a goodbye note by an employee who is leaving his job and it is addressed to his colleagues. The retiree basically expresses his emotions and thanks his fellow workers in this letter.
Here is a sample of a retirement goodbye letter sample:

Dear Friends and Colleagues
RE: Farewell
The time has come where I have to bid farewell to you all. After 15 years of being a part of this company, the time is here when I can sit back and enjoy my retirement years as you all work away.
I write to express my greatest gratitude and thank you all for your collaboration with me at work at Auto Motors. You all will always be in my heart and my thoughts, and I can never forget the wonderful memories we have had at work.
I hope we all frequently meet for coffee and I would it if you all keep in touch with me. I shall miss you all dearly. I wish you nothing but the best in life.
Your colleague and friend,
Norman Dalman
Sales Manager
