Things you will need

 

  • Measuring tape
  • Drill
  • Security bars
  • Carpenter’s pencil
  • Security screws
  • Drill bits
  • Saw (to cut the bars)

 

Instructions

 

  1. Find the right security bars by visiting a machine shop. You will have to get custom security bars fabricated for your home windows. Steel and iron bars are readily available, but are expensive. If you want something cheaper, opt for adjustable window grills. These may not be as strong as steel or iron, but will fit your short budget.

 

  1. Take measurements of your window, where the security balls will be installed. Place them up against the window, and with the pencil, draw a mark at where the fastening screws will be placed.
