Your eyes are the most alluring feature of your face as they invite and entice an onlooker. But to make your eyes more groomed and attractive, your eyebrows should be plucked and shaped. If you never have done your eyebrows yourself, it’s time to learn how to pluck them correctly to balance and frame your eyes. With the help of this guide, you will be able to pluck and arch those valuable assets on your face.

  1. Find a good pair of tweezers. Choose one with a fine tip with a slant.

  1. Wash your face with warm water and a good face wash to remove all traces of dirt. Blot your skin dry with a towel or washcloth. You can also take a hot shower before plucking to reduce pain cause by plucking.

  1. Apply moisturizer around your eyebrows before you begin. This will soften the skin and make it easier to pluck the hair without causing any pain.

  1. Plan on what shape you want – the thickness or arch shape. This will determine how much and from where you will be tweezing the hair.

  1. Sit in bright light to see your face clearly with a mirror.

  1. Keep in mind that no eyebrows are the same to anyone else, and even the two eyebrows on a face are different. This is why an eyebrow is defined by beauticians with starting and end points. The start point of an eyebrow is from the specific point which is in line with your nose. Use your tweezers or a pencil and hold it to your face. Make it sit along the outside of the nose to see the start of the eyebrow. Mark the start with an eye pencil or an eyebrow pencil.

  1. To check the end of the eyebrow, use the tweezers or pencil and place them to the starting point. Pivot them now at the top around the eye, keeping the point by the nose. Make the end of the pencil go till the outside of the corner of the eye in a straight line. Mark the end now.

  1. Repeat the above two steps on your other eyebrow.

  1. Get rid of any hair outside these boundary points!

  1. Trim your eyebrows if they are too long with manicure scissors.

  1. To find out where your arch will be set, place the pencil again from the tip of the nose, and take it till the center of the iris. Mark your arch with a pencil

  1. Create the desired shape of your eyebrows by first coloring the eyebrow with a pencil or brow powder. Choose how thick or thin you want, and what will look good with your face.

  1. Brush the eyebrow over the shape you have marked, and pluck all the hair outside of the marked eyebrow. Try not to over pluck or make too high arches!

  1. Finish off with a comb over the eyebrow and some brow gel.
