Calluses formed on the feet are irritating and painful. They form due the skin constantly rubbing against an uncomfortable surface. Tight shoes, high heels, not wearing socks with shoes, walking without shoes, or wearing loose shoes – are all reasons that lead to the creation of calluses on the feet. Some other factors that may cause calluses to appear on the feet are sweaty feet or standing for too long in one position.
Calluses need to be removed, and the sooner they are the better! Here is how you can get rid of the calluses on your feet.
- Soak your feet in a warm basin of water. Add 4 teaspoons of salt to the water. Keep your feet immersed I the water for 30 minutes to let the skin soften. Use a pumice stone to rub the calluses, and rub till the skin loosens a bit. Remove the feet from the water, and towel dry them. Apply moisturizer to your feet. Repeat this procedure 3 times a week.
- Soak your feet in a warm basin of water and add 3 tablespoons of baking soda to it. Soak in this water for 30 minutes. Pat dry your feet with a towel and apply moisturizer. Repeat this 2-3 a weeks.
- With the help of a cotton ball, apply apple cider vinegar directly to the callus. Let it seep in and don’t wash your feet. After an hour, use a pumice stone to rub over the callus.
- Mix 3 tablespoons of lemon juice with 2 teaspoons of olive oil and half a teaspoon of baking soda. Apply the paste on your callus and let it dry for half an hour. Wash off and repeat this procedure 3 times a week.
