Artists and writers have brought their skills in line with the latest softwares in recreating their work in the digital world. With Adobe’s Illustrator, a comic illustrator can create images and dialogues in panels on a page. It allows the users to select a template in a variety of panels.
To draw a comic strip in Illustrator, here is what a comic con does:
- Draw your story out in your mind to pour it on paper first. Each of your character should be roughly sketched, and your story line should be organized.
- Now that your story is set, begin using the illustrator.
- Draw each character first in the software, using the angles options for shapes and definitions.
- Set each image in a panel. These panels do not necessarily have to be in the same size. A new character can be introduced in a big panel. Consider the minor details, like shadows, backgrounds, color, etc.
- Add the dialogues now. Different boxes and clouds options are given above in the software, you can choose any according to your comic. Solid borderlines show that a character is talking, while zigzag ones show a character is loud and angry. Writing some information that isn’t a dialogue has to be placed in a yellow highlighted box.
