Colostomy enemas is a technique adopted as a means to treat constipation and stomach ache. In this, a physician places a bag in the abdomen to release gases. The bag is set at the area where the intestine has been diseased. The best way to go around the procedure is with the help of a medical consultant or your doctor.

  1. Water is heated to 100 degree Fahrenheit.

  1. The bag is filled with the water (half a liter).

  1. Some of the water is allowed to pass through the tubing to release the air bubbles, and then the valve is closed tightly. The bag will be hung at a 6-feet height.

  1. The drainage bag will then be attached to the stomach with an elastic band.

  1. The draining cone is inserted into the hole on the stoma then. The lubricant on the cone can be used for it.

  1. The valve will then be released. The patient has to wait and sit on the toilet to let the water pass through.

  1. The cone will be removed then and the bowl will empty during the time on the toilet. The drainage bag has to be closed and the cone from the stoma is removed.
