Cigarette smoke is not only bad for your health, but it can cause some really unsightly traces on the walls and the ceilings as well. So, whether you have a chronic smoker in your house or you have moved to a new place with one or more rooms covered in cigarette smoke, you have to clean it. While the cleaning process may take a lot of your time, yet it is achievable. All you need is the right cleaning solution and some time on your hands.

Things You will Need:

  • Rubbing alcohol
  • A cleaning solution like Magic Eraser
  • Simple green
  • A mixture of 1 part vinegar and 2 parts water
  • Bucket
  • An empty spray bottle
  • Sponges or a few microfiber cloths

The Actual Process:

1.     Select a Cleaner:

You have to select the perfect cleaning solution for getting rid of the smoke. If there is a small area which needs to be cleaned, then a readymade cleaning solution like Magic Eraser is perfect for that purpose. But, if a larger area requires to be cleaned, then go for the vinegar and water solution.

2.     Start Cleaning

Take a sponge or a cloth and dampen it with the cleaning solution. You can also spray the solution directly on the wall. Work on a small section at a time to clean it entirely. Don’t move to the next area unless the one you are already working upon is totally clean.

3.     Get Hold of the Bucket

While you are cleaning the ceiling or the wall, place the bucket under that area to save the floor from getting spoiled.

4.     Get Another Cloth

Once you are done with the cleaning, use a dry cloth to remove the dampness of that area. Go to the other area and repeat the process.
