Decals are painted or printed images on lacquered or varnished paper. Decals brighten the look of furniture, especially the Pennsylvania Dutch decals or country-looking ones. Here is a look on how you can apply decals to furniture:
- Keep the surface of the furniture to be decorated with the decal clean and dry. Remove all wax and dirt on it.
- To apply the decal paper, soak it in warm water. Let the paper absorb water until it loosens.
- Peel off the backing paper.
- Place it on the spot of the furniture where you want the print to appear. Position correctly and leave for 30 minutes.
- Remove the decal with a removing strip. The remover strip has to be soaked in warm water.
- Peel off the paper.
