Here are some home remedies to apply on the nails that may be reaping with fungus:
Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil has magical healing powers due to it being a natural disinfectant, antibacterial and fungicidal elements. Dilute the oil with ½ a teaspoon of olive oil and dab on the nail. Let it dry. Apply both evening and morning.
Baking Soda
Baking soda does not heal fungus, but it aids in preventing its growth. Baking soda has an alkaline base, which interacts with the fungus’s acidic base and stops it from spreading. Mix 4 teaspoons of baking soda in a cup of white vinegar. And a few cups of water to a water basin and add the mixture. Soak your feet in it. Pat dry after 15 minutes. Do this twice a day.
Coconut Oil
Coconut oil contains caprylic acid, which is a substance that can penetrate into the cell walls of fungus. This then dissolves in the cell and destroys the fungus. Simply add coconut oil with your finger or a cotton ball on the infected nail. Keep it on for at least 15 minutes. Apply as many times as you can throughout the day for speedy results.
Garlic
Garlic consists of allicin and ajeone, which are two substances that combat fungus due to having antifungal properties. Eat a garlic clove a day to prevent the formation of a fungal nail. You can also apply a paste of garlic mixed in a few drops of vinegar to the infected nail. This should be left on for a few hours and sealed with a bandage. Repeat daily.
Lemon Juice
Lemon juice has antiseptic and antifungal properties and its acidic nature stops the fungus from spreading. Apply lemon juice directly to the infected toe nail for 30 minutes several times a day. You can also mix lemon juice in olive oil and apply to the nail.
