Let’s face it, no one likes stained or streaked eyeglasses, as it blurs the vision. Glasses need to be cleaned frequently to make them look great and to prevent and scratch or damage to the lens. Constant touching and pollution clings to the glass lens like nothing else, and though there are plenty of cleaners and wipes available now for cleaning eyeglasses, knowing ho to maintain a clean lens is important to ensure  you don’t damage it.

 

Here is the best way to clean eyeglasses without leaving any streaks or smudge:

 

Things needed

  • Dishwashing liquid
  • Lens cleaning cloth (or micro-fiber cloth)

 

Instructions

  1. Wash your hands thoroughly before you clean your eyeglasses. Use a lotion-free soap to remove any dirt, grime, or hand lotion from your hands and then dry with a clean towel.

 

  1. Rinse your glasses under lukewarm tap water to get rid of any dust and debris. This is important as this ensures you don’t scratch the lens when wiping it. Do not use very hot water as that too can damage the lens.

 

  1. Apply a tiny drop of dishwashing liquid to each lens. Ensure the dishwashing liquid does not contain any lotion or hand moisturizer.

 

  1. Rub the lenses gently and the frame with your fingers. Do not miss out the nose pads while cleaning, and the end of the temples of the lasses.

 

  1. Rinse the lenses and frame with lukewarm water them, and ensure the soap traces have been removed properly.

 

  1. Shake the glasses gently to dry off the glasses a bit. Check if the lenses have been cleaned.

 

  1. Dry the entire glasses and the lenses with a lens cleaning cloth, or a clean towel.

 

  1. Inspect the lens, and if a streak remains, wipe off with the cloth or towel.
