With an auxiliary fuel tank, a generator is able to operate more powerfully than it does on one tank, as it will make the generator continue to run after the fuel has depleted from the main tank.
To add an auxiliary fuel tank to a generator, this is what you have to do:
Things you will need
- 6 gallon gas tank
- 2 gas tank fittings
- 2 brass fittings for the gas tank
- Marine hose
- 2 small hose clamps
- Drill
- 5 diameter hole bit
Instructions
- Connect one brass fitting and connect it to the gas tank.
- Connect the black plastic connector with the hook attachment on the tank.
- Then, drill a hole in the generator tank’s cap.
- Fix the drill bit by drilling very slowly.
- Place the other brass fitting in the new opening. The other fitting with be on top of the brass fitting.
- Place the generator and tank 3-feet apart. Now use the ball pumps and hose to connect the generator to the fuel tank.
